The recent leak from the Supreme Court on the pending Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization has led to a flood of commentary on the abortion issue in our country and in every region. Abortion is a very polarizing and complex issue. I have read dozens of commentaries on both sides  as well as treatments of Jewish texts on the issue.  The audio discussion below is of particular interest for Jews who are trying to gain greater insight into this issue.
 
One of the participants in the discussion is Rabbah Sara Hurwitz, one of the first modern Orthodox woman rabbis. She offers a succinct and insightful description of Halacha’s (Jewish Law’s) treatment of abortion. The discussion goes deeper into the role religion plays in the abortion debate. I think you will find the discussion to be illuminating. I certainly was struck by the issues touched on this episode.
