The Exploring the Jewish Experience Course is more than an introduction to Judaism. It is a comprehensive presentation and reflection on Jewish life, practices, religion, culture, ideas, and history. It is taught by master teacher, Rabbi Dov Gartenberg of Shabbat with Friends New Mexico along with other outstanding local teachers. This multi-access in-person and virtual course provides an engrossing and thought-provoking overview of Judaism and the Jewish people touching on the most consequential teachings, history, and enduring characteristics of one of the oldest continuous cultures in human history.

- The EJE is designed for people with diverse backgrounds: Jewish, non-Jewish, mixed couples, and those fascinated about Judaism no matter their background.
- The EJE includes study of the rich cultural heritage of Judaism exploring literature, music, visual art, cuisine, politics, and humor along with the religious teachings of the Torah, the way of Mitzvot, and wisdom of Jewish sages, philosophers, and mystics.

The Lead Instructor: Rabbi Dov Gartenberg, studied comparative religions at Berkeley and Harvard. He was trained for the rabbinate at the Jewish Theological Seminary in Manhattan. He is a member of the Rabbinical Assembly of America. He has taught award winning introduction courses throughout his rabbinic career, helping hundreds of students on their Jewish journeys. Rabbi Gartenberg is known for his dynamic teaching style and depth of learning. He can be contacted at dov@shabbatwithfriends.org.
