 About Joey Weisenberg
Joey Weisenberg cultivates the grassroots creativity of the Jewish people. A virtuosic, once in a generation master, Joey Weisenberg works as a multi-instrumental musician, singer, composer, writer, and teacher. Joey is the recipient of the National Jewish Book Award for The Torah of Music (2017)
 
Joey’s creative work with Jewish song and nigun engages diverse communities and Jews from all backgrounds: His goal: to educate and train individuals and communities around the world to unlock their musical-spiritual potential and make music a vibrant, joy-filled force in Jewish life.  RSVP below for one or both of the events with Joey.

Concert Gathering with Joey Weisenberg in ABQ on Sunday, 8/28

Sunday, August 28, 2022, 3pm at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque; 5520 Wyoming Boulevard NE Albuquerque, NM 87109

Joey Weisenberg’s concert gatherings are sonic journeys of powerful emotion and spiritual uplift, featuring soul-igniting melodies, masterful improvisations, ethereal harmonies, acoustic meditations, and electric invocations. Joey has long occupied the nexus point between the old and the new, and he is known for reaching into the heart of the nigun, the wordless Jewish spiritual melody, and synthesizing it with the American soundscape and the passion of the blues bars he grew up playing in.

Registration: Limited to 100 in-person seats. $25 per adult. $10 children (12-7, Children 6 and below are free). Remote access tickets using Zoom link- $10 per household. Tickets will go on sale after August 1st. Financial assistance is available. Building Singing Communities Workshop
with Joey Weisenberg in Santa Fe, Monday eve. 8/29 

Monday Evening, August 29, 2022.  Temple Beth Shalom, 6-8pm on the Lawn.

Using concepts, actions and visions from his book Building Singing Communities, Joey Weisenberg discusses strategies for bringing people together to make music a lasting and joy-filled force in Jewish life.

Designed for leaders, activists, visionaries, and laypeople who want to transform the soundscape of their community, this workshop teaches by example techniques for facilitating closeness, setting up singing spaces, encouraging harmony, finding the groove, cultivating silence and more. This workshop is geared for informal and formal Jewish communities who incorporate singing in their worship, programs, and gatherings.

Participants will have the chance to sing deeply, learn musical Torah, and ask questions.

Registration: This event is outdoors. Tickets are $18 for adults, free for young adults. Financial assistance is available. Tickets will go on sale after August 1st.  Carpools will be available for folks coming from ABQ.
