About the event
Shabbat with Friends offers a unique Shabbat experience that combines feasting, singing, and dancing. If you love Israeli folk dance or if you love to sing Jewish folk music, or if you love the traditions of a traditional Shabbat dinner, or if you would enjoy being with happy and relaxed folks, you will find this gathering both spiritually and emotionally scintillating.
Our dance teachers, Ruthie Maayan and Joy Rosenberg will share dances that both beginners and experienced folk dancers will enjoy. SWF’s Oneg Shabbos Ensemble will share traditional Sabbath table songs that have been choreographed into beautiful dances. We’ll sing them and dance to them.
Enjoy a Shabbat of joyful movement and melody at the spacious studies of the Keshet Center for the Arts at 4121 Cutler Ave NE.
Shabbat with Friends gatherings are free in honor of Shabbat and open to the community. Dancing is accessible for all levels. This gathering welcomes all ages, backgrounds. It is child-friendly. We support our musicians and artists. Please consider a discretionary donation for this gathering.
- 5:30-6:00pm Doors Open, Welcoming, and Meeting People
- 6:00 to 7:00pm Shabbat Potluck Dinner
- 7:00-8:30pm Singing and Dancing
