Musical Shabbat Gatherings

These gatherings draw from the vast Jewish and Sabbath songbook to bring people together for spirited singing and festive meals. Participants experience the joy, warmth, and uplift that come from sharing music around the Shabbat table.

Taste of Shabbat Gatherings

These narrated Shabbat meals introduce the rituals, customs, and stories of the Sabbath home table. Guests explore the rich traditions of hospitality, learning, and storytelling that shape the Shabbat Seder—the sacred Sabbath feasts. Through these programs, we offer tools for Jews and people of all backgrounds to revive a beautiful, humane, and uplifting way of building connection, conviviality, and community in turbulent times.

Shabbat Circles: Small Groups, Shared Passions

SWF is launching a new initiative to help people form Shabbat Circles—small, emerging groups that gather on Shabbat around a shared interest. A Shabbat Circle might focus on singing, hiking, reading, or engaging in thoughtful conversation. We also support circles organized around life stages, such as early adulthood, young families, or empty nesters. These intimate groups create supportive spaces for people to experience Shabbat in ways that feel meaningful and relevant to their lives.

Below is a listing of newly formed SWF Shabbat Circles

Young Families Shabbat Circle: This circle is for parents with children aged 0-5 years. The circle gathers once a month on Shabbat afternoon to share a meal, sing, do a family activity, and get to know other Jewish families. Contact Rabbi Dov to learn more and be invited to the next Shabbat circle.

If you are interested in the circle above or are interested in initiating a new Shabbat Circle, please contact Rabbi Dov Gartenberg at dov@shabbatwithfriends.org.
