About the event

SWF brings people together for Shabbat. At Shabbat with Friends, we experiment with different ways to bring people together . In that spirit SWF introduces Shabbat Conversation, an online only gatherings on Shabbat afternoon to engage in conversations on topics of concern, books, and movies.

Our first Shabbat Conversation will take place on Saturday, June 22nd from 4-5:30pm MDT.  The topic: Navigating the Topography of Jewish Identity in Difficult Times. Rabbi Dov's will present passages from the outstanding new book, Noah Feldman's To Be a Jew Today.  SWF chose this book as our SWF Reads Together choice for the summer of 2024. Feldman tackles what it means to be a Jew in our anxious times, exploring the unique and often conflicting ways we think about Jewish identity, God, Israel, and peoplehood.

This online Shabbat gathering is free and open to the community. To participate, preregister following the link in this announcement.  The book can be obtained from major booksellers and is available in Kindle format.
