A Program of Shabbat with Friends New Mexico (SWF)
For over two millennia, Jewish families have welcomed Shabbat with joyful, shared meals filled with song, blessing, and connection. Shabbat with Friends New Mexico invites you to experience this ancient tradition through Taste of Shabbat—a narrated Sabbath meal celebrating hospitality, spirituality, and community.
Led by Rabbi Dov Gartenberg, Convener of SWF, each Taste of Shabbat gathering features a Sabbath Seder—the sequence of rituals that open the Sabbath meal. Rabbi Dov shares insights into these beautiful traditions and guides participants on how to participate and even host meaningful, interactive meals that inspire friendship and spiritual rest.
All are welcome—people of every background and level of familiarity with Jewish life. Come curious and come hungry!
