SHABBAT AT THE CENTER "Shabbat Circles"
Small groups that help you personalize your Shabbat and build meaningful friendships.
On October 30-31, Shabbat with Friends is doing a Shabbat Circles Shabbat. Two different circles invite you to join them over the course of Shabbat. See below.
What are SWF Shabbat Circles? They are self-organized groups of people who come together around a shared interest or activity that enriches their Shabbat experience. Circles can also be groups of life-stage peers who gather for Shabbat, such as our Young Family Shabbat Circle.
Each circle is shaped by its members and coordinated by a volunteer coordinator. These small groups can gather around music, learning, nature, study, conversation, meditation, or other Shabbat activities. Each circle decides its own focus, activities, and schedule. Shabbat with Friends publicizes the group to the community through the Heylo app.
Our circles are always open to new participants rather than being closed groups. We hope you'll find a circle that aligns with your interests and offers you an ongoing, intimate, and vibrant community.
The circles described below are at different stages of development. Some are well established, while others are just beginning. We are excited to support these emerging communities and hope they will help individuals and families deepen the joy, meaning, and companionship of Shabbat.
If you have an idea for a new Shabbat Circle, please contact Rabbi Dov Gartenberg at dov@shabbatwithfriends.org, who will be happy to help you bring it to life.
FRIDAY EVENING:
Nigun Song Circle ShabbatDinner and Singing Farbrengen (gathering)
Join us for a Shabbat dinner centered on the joy of Jewish song and communal singing. The Nigun Song Circle brings together people who love singing nigunim (wordless melodies), Shabbat table songs, prayer melodies, and other beloved Jewish music. Whether you are an experienced singer or simply enjoy singing with others, you are warmly welcome. The circle emphasizes participation, connection, and the uplifting spirit that emerges when voices join together in song.
Here is a link about the Nigun Song Circle.
