Invitation for November 6 Minyan Midbar Event
Dear Friends of Shabbat with Friends,
I invite you to join us for the upcoming Minyan Midbar gathering on Friday evening, November 6, in Santa Fe! We are excited to resume the monthly gatherings of the Minyan. This time, we are coming together for Erev Shabbat. Join us for Kabbalat Shabbat at 6pm followed by a potluck Shabbat dinner. We will also have a special service for young families from 5-6pm. We will gather in the Olympus de Santa Fe community room at 955 Richards Ave in South Santa Fe across from the Home Depot.
We are excited to have, for the first time, Santa Fe born musician Jacqueline Bell lead the young family service from 5-5:30pm. Judah Horowitz will join me to lead Kabbalat Shabbat at 6. We are honored to have Rabbi Jack Shlachter to share a 5-minute Dvar Torah during this service.
Minyan Midbar is a new Sabbath prayer community that is creating a soulful and participatory davening experience. We heartily embrace the equal participation of men and women in all roles of our service, while offering an approach to prayer that affirms traditions and central role of Hebrew prayer. Our Minyan is kid-friendly, providing meaningful roles in the service for children and easy access for young families. We are proudly intergenerational. Most of all, our Minyan is welcoming to Jews of all backgrounds and beliefs and offers Shabbat hospitality for people who come from out of town.
We hope you will attend. Since we are having a Shabbat dinner, we ask that you sign up to contribute to the potluck and to know how many chairs to setup.
