🌟 Spotlight on Two Emerging Programs
We’re thrilled to share two exciting initiatives from Shabbat with Friends, both recently awarded grants. They are highlighted in this week’s HaShavua
Nigun Song Circle
Funded by Hadar Community Groups, this program draws on the Hadar Institute’s rich resources to teach nigunim (wordless melodies), liturgical songs, Sabbath table songs, and original compositions. These melodies come alive at our Musical Shabbat Gatherings.

🕯️ Taste of Shabbat & Hanukkah Gathering
Through a generous grant from National Center to Encourage Judaism (NCEJ) we are having our second Taste of Shabbat (and Hanukkah) Gathering on Saturday evening, December 15th. The Taste of Shabbat gatherings are built around a delicious catered meal with a special feature: live commentary on the origins and meaning of rituals, songs, and traditions. In a time of distracting screens, The Taste of Shabbat rediscovers the relevance of the lost arts of face-to-face encounter, breaking bread together and table fellowship. Experience authentic Jewish spirituality, hospitality, and thanksgiving.
This event is perfect for sharing with family and friends of all faiths and cultures.
✍️ SWF Blog Updates
We are resuming posting my posts on the SWF blog. I encourage comments and thoughts either on the site or made directly to me at dov@shabbatwithfriends.org
